When do people actually use DocProof?
Questions & answers
Do you store my file?
Never. Your file is hashed in memory the instant you upload it, then discarded completely. We only keep the SHA-256 fingerprint, filename, size, and UTC timestamp. It is mathematically impossible for us to reconstruct your file.
Is the $9 a subscription?
No. It's a one-time payment per proof. You pay $9, you get a permanent certificate. No renewals. No hidden fees. No account to manage. Ever.
What happens right after I pay?
In about 30 seconds you get: a unique Proof ID, your SHA-256 fingerprint, a public shareable verification link, and a downloadable PDF certificate. If you entered your email, the certificate is also sent there instantly.
Is this legally admissible?
A DocProof certificate is strong cryptographic evidence that a document existed at a specific moment. Hash-based timestamping is widely recognized. That said, legal weight depends on your jurisdiction โ for high-stakes proceedings, consult a lawyer.
How is this better than emailing myself the file?
Email timestamps can be forged or disputed. A DocProof certificate is tamper-evident: any change to the file โ even one character โ produces a completely different SHA-256 hash, making forgery mathematically detectable.
What file types and sizes work?
Any file up to 25 MB: PDF, Word, Excel, ZIP, code, images, video. If it's a file, we can fingerprint it.
Can I delete my proof later?
Yes. Use the data deletion tool to permanently remove your proof and all metadata, any time, no questions asked.
Do I need an account?
No account, ever. Pay via Stripe, get your proof. Save your Proof ID. That's the whole flow. We built DocProof with zero-friction as a hard requirement.
